“Infinity Challenge” and “Running Man” are Korea’s Most Loved Shows

According to results from Gallup Korea, variety shows “Infinity Challenge” and “Running Man” are the two most loved shows by South Koreans. 

Gallup Korea opened a poll from May 20 to 23, asking participants 19 years or older, “Which show do you like the most these days?” A total of 1217 people participated.

MBC’s variety show “Infinity Challenge” was number one with 12.8% of the votes. This makes it the fourth time that “Infinity Challenge” placed first- it was number one in January, March, and April too. In February, the KBS drama “My Daughter, Seoyoung” took first place.

SBS’ “Running Man” was number two with 7.2% of the votes. In particular, it received a lot of votes from people in their 20s to 40s, whitecollar workers, and students. Interestingly, both the first and second place shows have Yoo Jae Suk and Haha as two of the MCs.

The MBC drama “A Hundred Years Inheritance” placed third with 5.7% of the votes, finding favor with females over 60 years old and housewives. KBS’ variety show “1 Night, 2 Days” was fourth (5.1%) with many votes from females in their 30s and another MBC drama, “Gu Family Book” place fifth with 4.3% of the votes, receiving a lot of love from 20 to 30-something year old women and college students.

Lee Hong Ki Almost Gave Up Becoming a Singer Because of His First Love

FT Island member Lee Hong Ki recently opened up about his first love and his first heartbreak.

On May 28, Lee Hong Ki made an appearance on the SBS Power FM “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” radio show, where he confessed, “Up ’til now, I think I’ve had to say three passionate goodbyes.”

He continued, “What I mean by passionate goodbye is that I didn’t want to break up but there was nothing else I could do. Because I was a celebrity, I had no other choice.”

He also said, “I dated my first love during my trainee years. Since I wasn’t able to go back home as often, our hearts grew distant. That noona asked that we stop seeing each other. So I cried like crazy and told her I couldn’t do it. I cried so much, I was in a state of exhaustion. I kept telling my manager that I wouldn’t become a singer so he tried to dissuade me from walking away from it altogether.”

Choi Hwa Jung commented, “Your agency’s CEO must have been really distressed at that time” to which Lee Hong Ki replied, “Because of me, I’m sure he’s had to go through a lot.”

Boys of EXO Act on Their Wolf Instincts in Latest Video Teaser

Some fans might have been confused by the big contrast between the group's image and video teasers for “Wolf” from its upcoming debut album "XOXO (Kiss&Hug).

The latest video teaser combines both elements by showing the boys with wolf-like tendencies attending a local high school. Several scenes hint of a dramatic storyline where friendships are strained, boys being chased and fightings galore.

In a statement before the release of the teaser, a representative from SM Entertainment said, "’Wolf’ is a dance song that harmonizes dubstep and hip-hop, creating a powerful beat. The song will be suggestive of a fairy tale and present a new charm."

Lee Kwang Soo goes against his "traitor" image on SBS’s “Running Man” and shows uncharacteristic loyalty by making a surprise appearance in Byul's music video, the wife of his good friend Haha.

The teaser for Byul's track "You Are the Best" was released on May 28. It starts off with Kwang Soo freaking out after seeing a cartoonish figure. The said figure travels to various locations in Korea and promotes the song's official release date, which is on May 31. He later reveals his true identity.

Park Kyung Lim Fills In Son Ho Young’s Radio DJ Spot

Park Kyung Lim has temporarily stepped in to host MBC's radio program "Date at 2PM" for the time being.

On May 27, the radio program's official website was updated to announce that she will fill in for this entire week. Because she has previous experience hosting radio programs like "A Starry Night" and "Shim Shim Ta Pa," she finished the first day without any errors.

Initially, Son Ho Young was scheduled to be the temporary host after singer-songwriter Joo Young Hoon for two weeks starting from May 20. However, his girlfriend committed suicide a couple days after he started hosting "Date at 2PM" and had to suspend all activities. For the rest of last week, other celebrities like Park Myung Soo and Eun Ji Won stepped in as temporary DJs.

Taecyeon previously mentioned that the members wanted to move away from the "wild idol look," so they decided with a more mature and grown up image, hence the album name "Grown."

Eunhyuk Dressed Up As A Cute Mickey Mouse

Photos of Super Junior member Eunhyuk‘s recent trip to the happiest place on earth have recently been circulating online in community forums. 

Eunhyuk shared the photos on Twitter with the caption, “Yahoo! Disneyland!” In one photo, Eunhyuk and fellow Super Junior member Donghae pose with V-signs at Disneyland, while in the other couple of photos Eunhyuk can be seen wearing a Mickey Mouse hat and pretending to scamper around like an adorable mouse. The pictures were taken and shared back on May 14. 

Netizens who saw the photos commented, “Wow, Eunhyuk dressed as mickey mouse! He’s too adorable!”, “Can a man in his twenties be this adorable?” and “That mickey mouse hat is perfect on Eunhyuk!”

In other news, Eunhyuk has been busy recording for  the new variety show “Barefoot Friends” along with MC Kang Ho Dong.  He recently got his butt kicked on the show for his smart aleck remark towards his senior Lee Hyori. Eunhyuk was also involved in a wedding rumor with IU that was a hot issue for some time yesterday in the media. In addtion, Eunhyk and Donghae have released a PV for their latest Japanese single, “I Wanna Dance,” which you can view here.
